I’m pleased to announce that our next book, Building the Wingnut Wings Albatros D.Va in 1/32 Scale, by Karim Bibi, has reached the first draft stage. This means we’re not more than a few short weeks away from a release date now, and our aim is to have it finished and launched by the end of October. Stay tuned for more news and updates as work progresses. You can subscribe to the blog directly so that you’re notified by email when a new post is made:
And don’t forget our range of existing digital titles at bargain prices, including Karim’s earlier book on building the Wingnut Wings AEG G.IV late kit.
Last Thursday was my last day at the day job, bringing to an end my 18-year I.T. career. Under lockdown conditions, there really wasn’t even anyone to say goodbye to. I did, however, receive this awesome farewell gift from my team mates:
Thanks, lads!
I’d love to say that it will be full steam ahead with KLP Publishing from here on out, but I have the small complication of having to find a new house to contend with. Lockdown here in Melbourne has made the search for a new place almost impossible, and having sold our existing place the day before it came into effect means we’re running out of time. Luckily, we have the option to rent the current place after settlement, which while not ideal, at least means we won’t be homeless.
So, as I venture into the great unknown, I’d like to once again sincerely thank you all for the support you’ve shown me so far, and hope that you can continue to do so into the future!
My next task will be to get Karim’s excellent Albatros book over the line.
Written by master modeller Eric Galliers, this 160-page digital book shows you how he built his award-winning 1/32 scale model of Macaulay “Mac the FAC” Cottrell’s Cessna O-1 Birddog. Using the Roden 1/32 scale kit as a basis, Eric modifies it to represent Mac’s Birddog as he flew it in Vietnam in 1968.
Check out what our readers have to say:
“Outstanding book! love it” – Raphael Jumentier, France
“…it is surely the best source to build a Vietnam war O-1! Highly recommended!” – Thierry Laurent, Belgium
“I went through the whole book and I have to confirm that it is the top class product there is everything – perfect build, interesting story and quality walkaround photos” – Jan Gabauer, Slovakia
“The Bird Dog book is excellent, got the Roden kit, and it’s been very helpful.” – Graeme Buckley, New Zealand
“This is clearly a book written by modellers for modellers. The text is clear and concise and the great selection of walkaround pictures crisp. The words from the pilot really do add to the story.” – Julien Dixon, Britmodeller Review
“The download is superb, tons of photos, a great model build and a terrific price too. Well done to all involved.” – Bruce Crosby, UK

I started KLP Publishing back in 2017 while I was taking a year off work to look after my wife, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer at the very beginning of that year (it was a very tense Christmas break while we awaited test results, I can tell you). Happily, my wife fully recovered, and I returned to my day job in early 2018. Since that time, KLP has been run as a part-time venture, attended to in my free time, around work and family commitments. Despite this, we’ve still managed to release 11 titles in four years (plus a free download). Now, the time has come for a change.
As of 30 September 2021, I will be finishing up at my day job, and from then on, committing myself to KLP Publishing full time. This is an exciting and also a very daunting step, but with a growing backlog of projects in the pipeline, and many more things I’d like to achieve with the business and with the hobby, it feels like a natural and overdue evolution.
Of course, I’ll still need your support! And I’d like to thank every member of the KLP customer base for your terrific support to this point—I couldn’t have made it this far without you! But with the stakes about to become exponentially higher, and the risks very much more real—not just for me, but also my family—I would love for that support to continue, and to grow. So if you’ve been contemplating purchasing any of our eBook titles, and haven’t so far, please mosey on over to our web store and check out our catalogue:

Tomorrow is the first anniversary of the 7th title in our Build Guide Series, Building the Zoukei-Mura Ta 152H in 1/32 Scale by John Kim. To celebrate, for the next 5 days, we’ve reduced the price by 30% to just 10 Australian dollars!
In this 166-page eBook, John Kim takes you through the building, painting, and finishing of the terrific 1/32 scale Ta 152H kit from Zoukei-Mura.
Zoukei-Mura released two variants of the kit: an initial Ta 152H-1 kit, and a follow-up Ta 152H-0 release with refined tooling. Wanting to build a Ta 152H-0, but not being able to find the correct kit, John decided to take the earlier Ta 152H-1 release and backdate it to H-0 configuration. John takes us through not only the simple panel line modifications required for the backdating process, but also his building, painting, and weathering processes to produce the terrific model you see in the book.
The book also includes contributions from Jerry Crandall, Claes Sundin, and Richard Caruana, along with the usual appendices covering aftermarket products, decals and masks, and reference titles.
And as with all our books, should any updates be required, anyone who purchased the a prior version gets lifetime free access to all subsequent updated versions! All new purchasers will of course receive the updated version automatically.
