v2.2 of “Building the British Phantoms Vol. 1” Now Available and On Sale!

I’m pleased to announce that one of our most popular titles, Building the British Phantoms Volume One, has just been updated to v2.2, and for the next 7 days, has been reduced to just 15 Australian dollars!

Thanks to eagle-eyed customer Stuart Wallis, a small number of errors in some of the photo captions has been corrected, along with some refinements in the typography. Due to these corrections, this is considered an important update, and should be downloaded to replace any earlier version at your earliest convenience.

This a free update for all existing purchasers, and of course new purchasers will always receive the latest version of any of our books.

“Chevron and Cross” Now Available!

I’m pleased to announce that our latest title, Chevron and Cross: Camouflage Paints and Camouflage Schemes of the Royal Hungarian Air Force, is now available!

In this 417-page eBook, author Károly Magó covers the camouflage paints and schemes of the Royal Hungarian Air Force from inception until 1945 in forensic detail. Using historical photos, original documentation, and extensive primary research, the author sets out to answer the following basic question: “whether the Hungarian Air Force had used Hungarian or German standardised colours and shades to paint the aircraft”.

Along with extensive discussion of the subject, the book features over 200 photos, dozens of original source documents, period advertisements, and colour comparisons using salvaged aircraft pieces. Written with a modeller’s eye, the book also includes 46 colour profiles by Viktor Szalai.

It turns out that 2 images somehow didn’t survive the final packaging process for the book, and were in fact missing! This has now been rectified. This update is therefore considered an important one that restores missing content, and should not be skipped.

Announcing New Book: “Chevron and Cross”!

I’m pleased to announce that we’ve just begun working on the next title in our Modellers Monograph Series, entitled Chevron and Cross: Camouflage Paints and Camouflage Schemes of the Royal Hungarian Air Force. The book is authored by Károly Magó, and while there will be no model builds in this volume, it will be packed with historical data and photos, examination of pertinent colours, and a selection of colour profiles. It’s sure to be a boon to any modeller wishing to build Royal Hungarian Air Force subjects.

There’s no ETA on this title yet, but stay tuned for more news and updates as it comes to hand.

Vol. 3 of “Building the British Phantoms” Reaches First Draft!

I’m pleased to report that our next title, Building the British Phantoms Volume Three: The F-4J(UK) in RAF Service by Geoff Coughlin, has just completed the first draft stage. The editing and revision process shouldn’t take too long, and we’re looking at an official launch by the end of the month.

The book currently weighs in at 389 pages, with 9 kits builds, 3 colour profiles, a cockpit walkaround, and chapters on the evolution and key features of the F-4J(UK). The book also includes a foreword by Group Captain Dick Northcote OBE BA RAF (Retd).
